Customer gives false information or does not declare correct info on driver form: Owners

Response from Alan Boswell :

"For the owners, as long as they have documented that their checks have been carried out, before the hire starts, and the hirer met the criteria at the time, then any false information that is uncovered after the fact would not be held against the owner. The checks on the hirer/s should be carried out in advance (when the booking is received), but we would also recommend checking again a week before the hire date to ensure nothing has changed since the booking was first placed, and that gives you time to refer anything that does crop up to us. The reason we require the vetting checks to be carried out, is because it shows in the event of a claim that all reasonable measures are being taken to minimise the exposure to risk (claims)."

"Accidents are trickier to prove, as this information generally is only held by the insurers of the involved parties, and the national claims database of which we do not have access to. As long as the hirer has been asked the question by the owner, prior to the start of the hire, then this would be sufficient for us"
