A warning light has appeared on the dashboard - what should I do?
If a warning light appears on the dashboard during your trip, it’s important to:
- Safely pull over when possible
- Check the vehicle handbook if available
- Contact the owner immediately and inform them which warning light has appeared
- Follow the owner’s instructions
Please use the breakdown cover details provided at handover.
Please do not arrange repairs without the owner’s agreement (unless it is an emergency and you’ve been unable to reach them), as this may affect reimbursement.
If the warning light relates to a potential safety or roadworthiness concern and you feel unsure about continuing your journey, stop driving as soon as it is safe to do so and contact the owner straight away.
If the issue cannot be resolved and significantly impacts your trip, please contact us during your hire period so we can review the situation in line with our Booking Conditions.
Reporting warning lights promptly helps prevent further damage and ensures the safest outcome for everyone.
